Your decluttering journey

Imagine standing at the front door to your home and looking down the hallway. You know what is beyond that initial path. You know that your kitchen is covered in ‘stuff’. You know you don’t have a clear work surface. You know your cupboards are full to the brim and you don’t open them because everything is crammed in so tightly everything will fall out. You know that you’ve been looking for that tin opener for so long, but you’ve not found it, so you’ve brought another, which too has gone missing! You know that when you walk into your cluttered space that you will feel desperate, claustrophobic, overwhelmed and anxious, unable to think or focus.

You may have tried to declutter many times before, but each time you just stand there, paralyzed and not knowing where to start. Thoughts pop into your mind saying where do I start, what can I do, this is going to take forever, or I can’t do this!

But you can do this, you can get your space back. It isn’t hopeless, you can have that beautiful, clutter free space you want and deserve. This is where your decluttering journey begins.

Benefits of decluttering

There are many benefits of having a clutter free space, and no one is claiming that this journey is an easy one. It’s tough both physically and emotionally, but when you walk into your clutter free space, all those negative emotions will have disappeared.

When it is tough, remember why you are doing this and the benefits it will bring:

  • You will gain time by having your possessions in the appropriate spaces; therefore, you will spend less time looking for them

  • Your spaces will make more sense and have function again

  • You will no longer be falling over items

  • Your home will be a place of calm, reflection, and safety once again

  • Calm will come from the chaos which was once in your space

  • You will be able to refocus and find again the important relationships in your life because you will be free from the clutter

  • You will reconnect with yourself again with a newfound confidence and empowerment

  • Your treasured items will be in one place for you to enjoy

  • Your home will now be easier to clean and keep tidy

How can I keep motivated to achieve these goals?

Decluttering and organising can be mentally challenging with so many decisions to make and physically with moving items around, you may find your motivation waning at points. When this does happen KE Decluttering will be with you and will help you remember why you are doing this.
